As artificial intelligence reshapes globalisation, the focus of enterprises going global is shifting from seizing market opportunities to risk prevention and control, with cross-border compliance, dispute handling and data security becoming key issues. Organised around the themes of “AI empowerment, compliance protection and global win-win”, the event brought together technology and legal experts to explore innovative paths for outbound development.

Qianhai Law Firm has joined Bao’an District’s “Outbound Service Supermarket” and been officially accredited. In co-organising this event, the firm focused on ex ante risk prevention, extending legal services from post-dispute handling to the front end of corporate decision-making and operations, and translating practical experience in cross-border compliance and dispute resolution into actionable legal solutions to help outbound enterprises in the district prevent and resolve legal risks.

Drawing on 38 years of practice, Lan Caiming noted that AI brings not merely an upgrade in tools but a systemic restructuring of legal service models, boundaries and growth drivers. Legal professionals should embrace technological change while holding to professional baselines, work with technology companies to build a legal service ecosystem, convert individual experience into platform-based service capability, and shift from being legal service providers to value co-creation partners for enterprises, putting into practice the philosophy of “legal protection, resource bridging, professionalism first, cooperation as the key”.

Drawing on cross-border practice, Eunice Yan offered three practical compliance recommendations for enterprises going global: first, move risk identification upstream by building compliance review into market access and transaction structuring; second, use digital tools for standardised work such as contract review and compliance alerts; and third, define the role of AI clearly — technology cannot replace a lawyer’s professional judgment, but it can amplify professional value. She also described the deployment of digital legal tools in Indonesia, Morocco and elsewhere, and argued that legal services should be deeply embedded in day-to-day business decisions.

Qianhai Law Firm is working to convert individual practice experience into standardised, replicable service capability. In line with its “based in Qianhai, connected to the Greater Bay Area, reaching across the country and linked to the world” cross-border legal service system, it is developing branch offices, using Hong Kong as its foreign-related hub to deepen its presence in Southeast Asia while consolidating its North Africa practice, and building a “AI tools + lawyer services + cross-border resources” model to secure a stable supply of foreign-related legal services through digital transformation.

Taking this event as an opportunity, Qianhai Law Firm will continue to strengthen cooperation with the Bao’an District Enterprise Outbound Service Centre and other institutions, deepen its cross-border compliance and dispute resolution practice, and focus on areas such as overseas market access and intellectual property protection, providing solid rule of law protection for Bao’an enterprises as they set sail for global markets.
